2023 Daytona 24h, BMW M Hybrid V8. IMSA introduced the GTP category. These are the same cars that can race in Le Mans as LMDh. A LMDh chassis is based upon a chassis from one of the homologated LMP2 manufacturers, also a number of parts are standardized such as the hybrid system. BMW choose Dallara and added a twin-turbo V8 that was based on a DTM-engine. The BMW’s lacked some speed and reliability in the beginning of the season, but developed well.
