The first generation open top Viper R/T 10 was not very successful on the racing tracks. Its successor, the coupe GTS/R version surely was. It has been developed and raced by the French Oreca team and this works team would make the Viper with its huge V10 engine, the leading GT before it was surpassed by the Corvette. Privateer teams went on using the big snake for many more years. In the USA the Vipers raced as Dodge, in Europe Chrysler.
