Mobil1, part of ExxonMobil, is a lubricant and oil producer of which stickers can be found on many racing cars. But here I only show the cars that have an actual Mobil 1 livery, not just a sticker.
1989 Le Mans 24h, Aston Martin AMR1. This beautiful Aston Martin made its debut at Le Mans in 1989. In the same year Ford (which owned Aston Martin) also bought Jaguar. The TWR-Jaguars already were successful, so the Aston Martin project ended in its first season. This car finished a credible 11th, while its teammate #19 retired.
#18 Brian Redman (GB) / Michael Roe (GB) / Costas Los (GR) – 11th overall / 9th Group C1
Ecosse Aston Martin AMR1 – 6.3 liter Callaway RDP87 V8 90º, approx. 700 hp. Goodyear tires. Weight 910 kg. Carbon Fibre monocoque, chassisnr. Courtaulds #02

Porsche 911 GT1
1996 Le Mans 24h, Porsche 911 GT1. The 1996 Porsche GT1 looks like a Porsche 993, but is a pure prototype from which 25 were built for homologation. The engine came directly from the famous Group C Porsche 962, and the driver line-up was great. So it was favorite, beat the McLarens, but lost Le Mans to a WSC Prototype from Porsche-customer Joest.
#25 Bob Wollek (F) / Hans J. Stuck (D) / Thierry Boutsen (B) – 2nd / 1st GT1
#26 Yannick Dalmas (F) / Karl Wendlinger (A) / Scott Goodyear (USA) – 3rd / 2nd GT1

Porsche 911 GT1 (993) – 3.2 liter Porsche M9680 flat-6 twin turbo, approx. 600 hp. Michelin tires. Weight 1050 kg. Steel monocoque, chassisnr. GT1 #002

1997 Le Mans 24h, Porsche 911 GT1 evo. The Porsche GT1 is a pure prototype from which 25 are built for homologation. This was the evo version, used in 1997. The development of the 911 GT1 had been on a strict budget, the factory still used the steel monocoque where most competitors switched to carbon fibre. The improved longtail McLarens however beat the Porsches all season in BPR and also at Le Mans. Fortunately for Porsche, they can always relay on Joest who took the overall victory with his Porsche powered WSC prototype.
#26 Yannick Dalmas (F) / Emmanuel Collard (F) / Ralf Kelleners (D) – DNF
Porsche 911 GT1 evo – 3.2 liter Porsche M9680 flat-6 twin turbo, approx. 600 hp. Michelin tires. Weight 1050 kg. Steel monocoque, chassisnr. GT1 #005

1998 Le Mans 24h, Porsche 911 GT1-98. The 1998 version of the 911 GT1 was more than just an evolution version. It was a brand new car with a carbon fibre monocoque and body which had nothing in common with a street car. However the signs weren’t good (Mercedes won the world championship races and Toyota was much faster at testing) Porsche managed a double win in one of the best races ever after a race long battle with the Toyota GT-One.

#26 Laurent Aiello (F) / Allan McNish (GB) / Stephane Ortelli (MC) – 1st

Porsche LMP-1
1998 Le Mans 24h, Porsche LMP-1. The LMP-1 was originally designed by TWR for Jaguar as a World Sports Car (WSC) for the IMSA championship. Joest Racing bought the cars and put Porsche flat-6 engines in it. By surprise it won Le Mans in 1996 and 1997. This year, the Joest team was supported by the Porsche factory and the car was renamed in Porsche LMP-1. The car hadn’t been much developed and the newest GT1 cars were much faster.
