#110 Vitaphone

Vitaphone Racing, or Vita4One, was a German racing team that participated in the DTM and FIA GT Championship. The team was actually Bartels Motor & Sport GmbH, but operated under the title of its main sponsor, Vitaphone GmbH. 


2003 DTM, Opel Astra Coupé V8
The German Touringcar Masters DTM is one of the most popular racing series in Europe. Mercedes, Opel and Audi compete with topteams and drivers. This year the battle went between three Mercedes drivers. Manuel Reuter in his Opel V8 Coupé only finished 10th overall.

2005 Spa-Francorchamps 24h, Maserati MC12 GT1
Vitaphone Racing was the leading Maserati team in the FIA Championship. The Bartels / Scheider car was strengthened with local hero Eric van de Poele for the 24-hour race at Spa. It helped, as they won. The sister car that had won Ochsersleben had to retire, the JMB Maserati finished 2nd. Vitaphone Racing won the teams title in 2005.

2006 Nürburgring 24h, Maserati Gransport Trofeo
The Vitaphone team usually performs in the FIA Championship with their mighty Maserati MC12’s. This near standard Gransport Trofeo was used in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring where it retired. At the end of the season guests of the team could join for a lap around Hockenheim, the cars had #1 there.

2008 Spa-Francorchamps 24h, Maserati MC12 GT1
The Vitaphone Maseratis won the FIA GT team championship 5 years in a row starting in 2005. They were also the most successful team in the Spa 24-hour race, the most important race of the championship. Bartels and Van de Poele won in 2005, 2006 and again in 2008. This year, the other Vitaphone Maserati finished in 2nd place.

2008 Le Mans 24h, Aston Martin DBR9 GT1
Vitaphone Racing was invited for Le Mans because of their FIA GT driver and team Championships. Their Maserati MC12 however was not homologated by ACO for the GT1 class at Le Mans. So Vitaphone teamed up with Strakka Racing that had no invitation and thus we saw the Strakka Aston Martin in the bright green Vitaphone colors.

2012 Spa-Francorchamps 24h BMW Z4 GT3 (E89)
German Vita4One Racing started as Vitaphone Racing. It had enormous succes with the Maserati in GT1 in the past, winning several titles and also the Spa 24h race. Sponsor Vitaphone has gone, but the colour scheme remained. In 2011 the team took the Blancpain title with a Ferrari 458 and for 2012 they entered two BMW Z4 GT3. This car took pole-position and finished 3rd.
