2014 Le Mans 24h, Porsche 919 hybrid
In 2014 Porsche returned at the highest level. The new developed 919 hybrid uses a V4 turbo engine with kinetic energy recovery as well as a warmth recovery system on the turbo comparable as being used by F1 teams in 2014. When the leading Toyota retired and the Audi’s had technical problems Porsche took the lead. But the race was a few hours too long, the 919’s struck trouble. In the end the cars finished only 11th and the other was not classified at all.

2016 Le Mans 24h, Porsche 919 hybrid
Porsche took victory at Le Mans and in the FIA world championship in 2015. At Le Mans 2016 the battle was very hard between Toyota and Porsche. This #1 was in the lead group for quite some time until a broken waterpump made an end to all ambitions. Repair took quite some time and in the night the car returned to the track in 52rd position. It finished in the end in 13th position which was the best possible result. The sister car #2 won Le Mans in the last lap because the leading Toyota failed to complete the final lap …

2017 Le Mans 24h, Porsche 919 hybrid
In 2017, Audi has already left Le Mans and the battle would again be between Porsche and Toyota. But most om these retired and also the #2 Porsche hit trouble and barely secured the win just ahead of 6 LMP2 teams. Porsche would leave Le Mans after this 3rd victory, onze again proving that manufacturers aren’t the most reliable partners in racing. The come and leave whenever they wish.

2023 IMSA GTP, Porsche 963
One of the privateer teams that managed to get a Porsche 963 was JDC Miller MotorSports. The bright yellow car is entered for th first time in round 4 of the IMSA Sports Car Championship and was driven by the very experienced Mike Rockenfeller (Le Mans winner in 2010, DTM champion in 2013) and the young Dutch driver Tijmen van der Helm. They make a nice team and finish 7th at Laguna Seca, 4th at Watkins Glen, 4th at Mosport, 5th at Road America, 8th at Indianapolis and 5th in the Petit Le Mans were the team was reinforced with Jenson Button. Not a bad result for the first season.

2024 Le Mans 24h, Porsche 963
Penske again entered three cars in this year’s Le Mans, two regulars from WEC and the #4 car that usually competes in IMSA GTP. That #4 crashed, but the others did well and finished just outside the podium in 4th and 5th place. The #6 car was second fastest in regular qualifying, but thanks to the hyperpole format, it managed to score pole position.
