Welcome to my website. My name is Mike, I live in The Netherlands and I have always been a motorsport fan.
In 1971 my father took me to the cinema and I saw Steve McQueen’s “Le Mans”. Afterwards I got a model car and of course I chose a Porsche 917, not in Gulf livery unfortunately but a metallic red one. I played with it until it was worn and finally threw it away, but the love for endurance racing and specially Le Mans lasted. Recently I saw a similar model on eBay and bought it.
The first F1 Grand Prix that I visited was Zandvoort in 1973. My first 24-hour race was at Spa-Francorchamps in 1981 and I started collecting model cars after I finally visited the Le Mans 24h for the first time in 1998. I’ve visited over 40 24-hour races and many other endurance events, sprint races, rallies and did quite some racing myself also.
I focus on collecting Le Mans models, but also series such as World Endurance Championship, DRM, Nürburgring 24h, Daytona 24h, Spa-Francorchamps 24h, Sebring 12h, and the Targa Florio. I even got a few Dakar and rally cars. My favorite liveries are Gulf, Martini, and Jägermeister. 99% of the models are in scale 1/43, I have a few 1/18s.
I post blogs that I call “collections” in which I gather and describe cars and races of my favorite racing cars. Models can appear in more than one collection. For example an Aston Martin can appear in “Aston Martin GT”, in “Gulf GT” but als in “Art Car”. I’m not aiming to give a complete historic overview, just for the ones that I have the model car.

STARS
Starting in October 2025, I will put a rating on all model cars from 1 to 5 STARS, this is not an exact science, just my personal opinion.
– Overall rating: are the dimensions correct, is the livery attractive, does the real car have an interesting history?
– Quality details: size, positioning and quality of the decals, wheels, spoilers and diffusers. Are there any exhausts, antennas, wipers, towing points?
– Estimated value: all my models are out of their boxes and have been on display in my cabinets. But I kept the boxes, so I can put them in and sell them on eBay.
- 1 star : probably not over 10 euro
- 2 stars: between 10 and 25 euros
- 3 stars: between 25 and 50 euros
- 4 stars: between 50 and 80 euros
- 5 stars: probably well over 80 euros
